As the world pays more and more attention to environmental and social sustainability issues, the government has continuously strengthened environmental legislation. Customers’ demand for eco-friendly products and services continues to increase. Enterprises have become inevitable choices to implement sustainable development strategies. In sustainable supply chain management, supplier selection is a key link for enterprises to implement sustainable development strategies. However, Chinese enterprises’ sustainable development practice started late, and sustainable supply chain management is still in the early stages of development. This makes it difficult for enterprises to select suppliers to support sustainable supply chain management. At the same time, sustainability increases the complexity of risks and pressures in the supply chain management environment. This highlights the importance of supply chain resilience in sustainable supply chain management. However, the relationship between supply chain resilience and sustainable supply chain management remains controversial. Therefore, it is very important to further analyze the relationship between supplier selection and sustainable supply chain management, as well as the relationship between sustainable supply chain management and supply chain resilience, and consider the relationship changes in complex environments.

This study explores the relationship between supplier selection and sustainable supply chain management, sustainable supply chain management and supply chain resilience. It also analyzes the moderating effect of risk and stress among environmental factors. Based on resource dependence theory, dynamic capability theory and contingency theory, this paper proposes a comprehensive analysis of relevant literature on supplier selection, sustainable supply chain management, supply chain resilience, supply chain risk, and stakeholder pressure. Develop theoretical models based on research hypotheses. Then, to achieve the research goal, we designed a mature scale that conformed to the questionnaire in this paper. We collected and analyzed the data. Finally, drawing on the valid data of 235 Chinese manufacturing enterprises, we use structural equation modeling to test the research hypothesis and theoretical model.

The test results show that: (1) Innovation-oriented supplier selection positively affects sustainable supply chain management, while cost-oriented supplier selection has no significantimpact on sustainable supply chain management. (2) There is a U-shaped nonlinear relationship between sustainable supply chain management and supply chain resilience. (3) Both supply chain risk and interest-related pressure will promote the relationship between innovationoriented supply choices and sustainable supply chain management, while inhibiting the relationship between cost-oriented suppliers’ choice of sustainable supply chain management. Supply chain risk will negatively regulate the U-shaped nonlinear relationship between sustainable supply chain management and supply chain elasticity, and the moderating effect of stakeholder pressure is not significant between sustainable supply chain management and supply chain elasticity. The empirical analysis results of this paper make up for the lack of research on supplier selection as an antecedent dependent variable of sustainable supply chain management. They apply different supplier selection categories and expand the research on the relationship between supplier selection and sustainable supply chain management. At the same time, it also explains the reason why there are contradictions in the conclusions of the relationship between sustainable supply chain management and supply chain elasticity in the existing research, and enriches the research on risk and pressure as contingency factors in sustainable supply chain management, and promotes the implementation of Sustainable supply chain management provides policy support and guidance.
